About him

Waterlee Zakumi Aristole, or Arrie, as we call him, is named after Zakumi the Leopard (born 16 June 1994) who was the Official Mascot for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The maskot is a cheerful and sporty leopard with green hair, presented on 22 September 2008. His name comes from "ZA", the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for South Africa, and "kumi", a word that means ten in several African languages, referencing the year 2010.

Waterlee Zakumi was bred by Ivo Huisman. Ivo uses themes for kittens in each litter. In the case of Zakumi's, the theme was the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup.

Zakumi the kitten was always happy and friendly just like the soccer mascot. Also part of that litter was Shakira, Lira (both 2010 songstresses) and Simphiwe Tshabalala. The other boy was Teddy.

Zakumi has a fabulous show career in Cape Town and won many  "Best" awards.

AICA show on 23 July 2011.

Zakumi continues his show career triumph by being
Best on Show again at the AICA 11 show in Durbanville on 10 Dec 2011.
